Gillinder Glass Store and Museum are located inside the historic Gillinder Glass Factory, which has been in the same location in Port Jervis since 1912. The glass manufacturing company which began in Philadelphia in 1861, moved to Port Jervis in 1912 and continues today producing industrial and commercial glass lenses and domes using state of the art equipment. The gift store is unique in that it is host to Monday-Friday guided factory tours, where the public is invited to learn about glass making and then can observe the skilled glass workers gathering, pouring and pressing glass into molds. On special days during the year when the factory is not in production, a team of guest artists take over the factory floor; we invite the public to watch the artists blow glass into beautiful one-of-a-kind pieces of art, which are available for purchase in our gift store. In addition to the guest artists' pieces, one may also purchase items made in our factory, as well as handmade items made by other American and Canadian artists. Check our website (www.gillinderglassstore.com) for store hours, tour times, and Special Glass Blowing Events.
